Propagating the Light

A Buddhist Denko-e Retreat in Oakland, CA + Zoom

Please join us for the 5-day Propagating the Light Sesshin / Denko-e to be hosted at the DeepBow Zendo in Oakland and via Zoom.  

You are welcome to attend some or all of the sesshin beginning on the evening of Saturday, October 11 to noon on Thursday, October 16.

The retreat is limited to 12 participants. After this retreat there will be a 3-Day Calligraphy retreat October 17-19, limited to 6 participants. Pease register early.

Details & Registration

Meals: Meals are oriyoki style with instruction offered the first evening. Meals will be vegetarian. 

Accommodations and Seating: You are welcome to stay in Oakland or find your own local accommodations. It is helpful to bring a sleeping bag and pillow for your comfort. We have zafus, zabutons, seiza benches and chairs. 

Online: You can also attend some portions of the retreat via zoom. 

Activities: During the day there can be time to hike in the Berkeley Hills above the UCBerkeley campus. 

Cost: Offered by donation, with a minimum donation to cover costs.
